What is a Distributed Antenna System?
These three words get thrown around a lot when talking about in-building cellular signal... but what does it mean? Distributed Antenna Systems or DAS in the industry is a network of antennas connected by cables and splitters to deliver signal to a specific area. Most of the time, those areas have little to no cellular signal for a specific carrier i.e. Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, or even Private Networks. This amounts to missed texts, dropped calls, and slow or no data speeds. Distributed Antennas Systems, with the proper design and equipment, are a crucial part in fixing the problem of poor connectivity for these types of networks.
Now, all Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) are not created equal. Just like when buying a vehicle, you have your Rolls Royce's and then you have your cheaper made cars that get you from point A to B.
At Profusion Wireless, we pride ourselves in knowing the technical side of all the differing equipment and manufacturers so that we can give you a system that fits your budget. Just because one DAS works great in one building does not mean its going to work great in another. Some, in our experience, don't work at all in certain spaces. It all depends on size of the building, carriers, cost, what the building is made of, nearest tower, interference... there are countless reasons. Profusion Wireless can give you, as the customer, options on what would work in your building. And just because it is most expensive, does not mean that it is the best "fit." The worst that can happen is a customer has a system installed, and after a costly and lengthy project, realizes that the problem still exists!
The most important things is a great user experience for your customers and staff. Consistent cellular signal in this day and age is no longer a want, but a necessity. Profusion Wireless will provide that.
